Castwide 2.3.6 - FFmpeg corresponding source
============================================

Castwide (Windows) ships one third-party program built from GPL source:
  resources\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe SHA-256 38df7899e6a46121505089913cfae60ace3362802aa74f2a8b126d98321e122c
It is FFmpeg 7.1.1 licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3
(configured with --enable-gpl --enable-version3), statically linked with
x264 (GPL v2 or later, used here under GPL v3) and Intel libvpl (MIT). The
NVIDIA (nv-codec-headers, MIT) and AMD (AMF, MIT) parts are headers only;
the GPU driver's runtime is loaded at run time and is not shipped.

This package contains the exact source used to build that ffmpeg.exe:

  ffmpeg-7.1.1.tar.xz Official release, unmodified
                                 (https://ffmpeg.org/releases/ffmpeg-7.1.1.tar.xz,
                                 SHA-256 733984395e0dbbe5c046abda2dc49a5544e7e0e1e2366bba849222ae9e3a03b1)
  x264-0480cb05.tar.xz x264 git commit 0480cb05fa188d37ae87e8f4fd8f1aea3711f7ee
                                 (https://code.videolan.org/videolan/x264, core 165), unmodified
  libvpl-v2.13.0.tar.xz Intel libvpl v2.13.0 (https://github.com/intel/libvpl), unmodified
  nv-codec-headers-n12.2.72.0.tar.xz https://github.com/FFmpeg/nv-codec-headers tag n12.2.72.0
AMF-headers-57ee0cfb.tar.xz AMF public headers, commit 57ee0cfb0e1a08d9041f77435653794c1b012be0
                                 (https://github.com/GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/AMF)
build/ Build scripts and configure flags:
    build-x264.sh x264 (static, 8-bit 4:2:0, no CLI)
build-ffmpeg-win.sh nv-codec-headers, AMF headers, libvpl, then FFmpeg
mingw.cmake CMake toolchain file used for libvpl
ffmpeg-configure-command.txt the exact ./configure command line for FFmpeg
ffmpeg-configure-output.txt FFmpeg configure output (enabled components)
    x264-configure-summary.txt x264 configure summary
licenses/ GPLv3, FFmpeg, x264, libvpl and AMF licence texts

No source file was modified. Castwide does not patch FFmpeg or x264.

How to rebuild (Debian 13 "trixie", 64-bit Linux, cross-compiling for Windows):
sudo apt-get install mingw-w64 nasm cmake make pkg-config git xz-utils
Unpack every .tar.xz into one folder (you get ffmpeg-7.1.1/, x264/, libvpl/,
  nv-codec-headers/ and amf/), copy build/* there, run build-x264.sh, then
build-ffmpeg-win.sh (change the "cd" path and P= on its first lines to that
folder). It installs into ./prefix and leaves a stripped ffmpeg-hw.exe, which
  Castwide ships as resources\ffmpeg\ffmpeg.exe.

Castwide itself is not covered by the GPL: it runs ffmpeg.exe as a separate
program. Castwide's own licence is in EULA.txt; third-party notices are in
THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt next to Castwide.exe.

Where to get this package: it is attached to every Castwide release on GitHub
(https://github.com/CastwideApp/castwide/releases) as
Castwide-<version>-ffmpeg-source.tar.xz. The same FFmpeg build (same SHA-256)
(SHA-256 above) is bundled in every Castwide release from 2.3.0 to 2.3.6, so
this package is the corresponding source for all of them.
